I think I stumbled across the Captain Harlock movie when I was looking for the fairly recent Space Battleship Yamato movie with Japanese audio and English subs
Spoiler warning:
Looked up Space Pirate Captain Harlock, it sounds good. I agree with Jazz about FF7; I think other games deserve a sequel. Maybe a crossover game? I thought maybe if Kefka and Ultimecia teamed up,and characters from six & eight fought them. Just an idea though.

Honestly crossover games are dumb unless its something like Crapcom VS SNK then its pretty sweet

The drawing system was reolutionary, but way to easy to exploit. Having 9999 HP before leaving garden was doable in six hours. The drawing system was and is excellent because it further separates each of the games as they should have been. They share the same universe, but nothing more. Saying one game or one movie isn't a true final fantasy 'thing' because it was too different ignores the fact that they are noncanon. Honestly though, materia was the stupidest of all magic systems.
Other than Dissidia.(though it was a good game).
How do you mean, "if its like capcom vs snk?"
They release one of those more frequently than nba201x or COD. Crossover games just have to be done right; with full creative priveledges of each respectable team. The reason anyone plays a crossover is to experience the same aesthetics of the originals. Crossing two fighting games into a fighting game is just lazy.
Crossing an action RPG and a strategy RPG into a fighter... Now thats art!
I wasnt going on about any particular title, I just don't know of a crossover I hated. I even dislike fighting games and racing games, but crossovers make them fun.
Madden vs CoD. Or even FIFA vs CoD.
If I could blow both teams away and murder everybody in the stadium it definitely would be a sports game I'd enjoy, and it would have replay value.
Spoiler warning:
The fan remake looks niice. I would like to play that.
