I don't even want to begin to read the thread, but I'm going to reccomend Lego Star Wars 2, because it's on of the best games I've ever played. It's just amazingly fun and addictive.
I'm looking for something to try on my new PC:
2.0ghz amd athlon64 +3200 AM2 (oced to 2.3ghz)
512mb DDR2800
ATI Radeon X700SE pci-e16 (also oced)
I'd like an Action-Adventure, a Platformer, or an turnbased RPG (like final fantasy)
Any recommendations?
PS: NO FPS. I have too many as it is (Doom3, HL2, FEAR, COD2, UT2004)
LEGO Star Wars was kinda boring,
hmm Legacy of Kain: Defiance
I'll take a look

Foxboy:
Fable. Action-RPG, looks great.
Fallout 1 & 2. Turn based (sorta turn based, the battle system is actually a lot like Chrono cross's, except you can move around in battle) 2d isometric games, considered to be some of the greatest computer RPG's of all time.
Hitman 2 and Hitman: Blood Money both have a world travelling adventure feel to them. Plus plenty of shooting people!
As I was walking down the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
I wish, I wish he'd go away.
@ Foxboy: Ever try morrowind for the PC? I find it very expansive with a big world. It may fit your line of style or not. idk. But thats my request for the day.
I have a brother that played Morrowind for Xbox and i wasn't impressed sry.
I'll look into Fable and Fallout though.
Outcast huh? Never heard of it.
Definitely worth looking at too.
edit:
Fallout is one of those overhead RPG's like Sacred, Sry not my style.
Still looking.
edit2x:
outcast looks much like KOTOR I and II
I like rpgs with a battle system like that of FF or the Tales of... Series.(i.e. battles take place separately from main world.)
(loved Tales of Symphonia!)

see if oblivion will run on your pc. i tryed morrowind a while back but couldnt get into it then gave oblivion a try and it was like a drug
as for ff style rpg your not gonna find much if any and after shooting down diablo style, kotor style rpg you might want to switch your genre or platform
Fable also plays like a 3d Zelda game, except with more magic, more RPG stuff, and lots and lots more adult content.
