The D-Terminal was cheaper years ago, but everything from Japan is dumb prices over here now (if you can even import it, most sellers won't send here still).

I didn't know they had gotten so expensive.

They're just nearly impossible to find over here.
It's simple enough to make one cheaply though using 360 component cable (which is easy to find, I have a bunch of them).

Not as expensive as Gamecube component cable though.

Chopping up the two cables and attaching the 360s wires to the original connector? I had a GC component cable briefly, it wasn't had cheap enough to justify keeping it with how little I use the GC.

There's also an odd Japanese Gamecube cable that uses the digital port. It looks like d-sub but not actually vga I think?
Anyway, I think I remember reading that you can hack that up into a component cable as the digital decoder thingy inside does the same job.

Yep you use the plug from the Xbox composite cable and the component wires from the 360 component cable set. People sell them on ebay made up like that, it's a common mod. Both cables are fairly easy to source and you end up with a high quality cable.

The Gamecube component cable can fetch a handsome sum of money now, at least over here anyway. I've seen them sell for over $150aud.
Never had one myself but I do have GC Plug (GCVideo) which is HDMI using the digital port, compatible with both PAL & NTSC consoles. I use a generic remote for the menu (actually sourced from old SD STB).

It still goes for $200+ here in spite of the HDMI boxes . D-Terminal is about the same.

Ok maybe it's more now than what I said. That's just the last sold prices I noticed back before I got my GC Plug.

Looks like the temps would be better than any normal PS3.

Microsoft has owned the rights for quite a while. I think that's been the case for the life of the franchise. I wrote off the series after playing 4 and sold it while it still had value.
